Been awhile!

Wow! Good thing this blog is not a requirement in my life, or I would have failed the test.

So....It is now the middle of October. Fall is here. My favorite time of year. The leaves are changing, the bucks stink, all the does are bred, the animals are getting hairy, I am building a fire every night......I love my life.

I am extremely excited for my does to kid this spring. I used Rebel pretty heavily this fall since he is moving to a new home with Suzanne Strong. He will still be around, but he won't be my sweet old man any more. Too bad i can't keep him forever, but my space limits things and i need to have room for other wonderful, new bucks, including Sparkling Acres 3 Gun Salute. I have one word....WOW! This is an impressive animal. I am very excited about what he has to offer. Thank you so much, LuAnn, for your trust.

I will be freshening 22 does this spring, so needless to say, there will be animals for sale. lol! I have ideas about whom, but not 100% positive yet......need to see what winter brings in the development of yearlings and 2 year olds. I am not happy with my kid crop from this year, so unless they are magnificent yearling milkers, almost all of them will be going and their daughters will replace them. I went back to some dependable bucks this fall so i can get back the quality I am used to in the new 2011 kid crop.

I'll try to touch on this again sooner next time. :) Until then, have a great and safe winter, and a fun holiday season. Namaste.

compliment

Wow..... John Miglio did a work up for me on my animals ans paid me an awesome compliment. He said I have some really good stuff in my bloodlines. I am on cloud 9 receiving a compliment like that from him. He has numerous CH, National CH and RCH, as well as several Top Ten animals in his herd. I am flattered.

Hmmm

Breedings appear to be going well. Except for Lila and Flower, there doesn't seem to be any fertility issues this year! Yeah! Extremely excited for kidding season to start for 2 reasons. 1. I can't wait to see the udders on my yearlings, and 2. I want to see the quality of kids that Twyc is going to put on the ground and how well he crosses with my bloodlines. National Show 2012, here I come! :-)
